About the country

Barbados is an English-speaking Caribbean island state, independent since 1966, with one of the region's oldest parliamentary democracies. In July 2020 it was among the first countries in the world to launch the Barbados Welcome Stamp - a one-year visa for remote employees and freelancers with income from abroad. The status is set by a law of its own (the Remote Employment Act), and local income tax isn't paid on it.

Worth knowing

  • !High living costs by Caribbean standards - almost everything is imported
  • !Health insurance valid in Barbados for the whole visa period is mandatory (travel insurance doesn't qualify)
  • !Atlantic hurricane season runs June to November; a small, tourism-dependent economy

Common questions

How can I move to Barbados?
The catalogue covers these routes: residence permit. The reference section describes 6 relocation programmes in total, with official conditions and links to government sources. Which route fits depends on whether you have a job, a business, property or relatives in the country - we'll go through it on a free consultation and pick the one that works.
What services can I arrange in Barbados?
1 option across 5 areas: residence permit, crypto exchange, flights, short-term stays, VPN abroad, health insurance, buying, selling and 2 more. Every option comes with a price, a timeline and the scope of work; the provider is a licensed local expert.
Can services in Barbados be arranged remotely, without flying in?
No: this service requires you to be there in person - usually for biometrics, a signature at the bank or filing at a consulate. What exactly has to be done in person is covered on a free consultation before any work starts.
What does a consultation cost, and is there a markup on top?
The consultation is free and commits you to nothing. You sign the contract directly with the expert and pay their official price list - Pactors adds no markup and takes no commission from you.
