About the country

Croatia is an EU, Schengen and eurozone member on the Adriatic coast. Since January 2021 it has run a state digital nomad visa (Digital Nomad Residence Permit) for non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizens who work remotely for foreign employers or clients. The permit is issued for up to 18 months, and income under this status is not subject to Croatian income tax. It cannot be renewed back to back: once it expires you need a break of at least 6 months before applying again.

Worth knowing

  • !A high income threshold that rises every year - from €3,622.50/month as of July 2026 (2.5× the average net salary)
  • !The status cannot be renewed back to back - a break of at least 6 months is required before a new application
  • !Time on the digital nomad status doesn't count towards the 5 years needed for permanent residence - that needs a different permit

Common questions

How can I move to Croatia?
The catalogue covers these routes: residence permit. The reference section describes 10 relocation programmes in total, with official conditions and links to government sources. Which route fits depends on whether you have a job, a business, property or relatives in the country - we'll go through it on a free consultation and pick the one that works.
What services can I arrange in Croatia?
1 option across 5 areas: residence permit, crypto exchange, flights, short-term stays, VPN abroad, health insurance, buying, selling and 2 more. Every option comes with a price, a timeline and the scope of work; the provider is a licensed local expert.
Can services in Croatia be arranged remotely, without flying in?
No: this service requires you to be there in person - usually for biometrics, a signature at the bank or filing at a consulate. What exactly has to be done in person is covered on a free consultation before any work starts.
What does a consultation cost, and is there a markup on top?
The consultation is free and commits you to nothing. You sign the contract directly with the expert and pay their official price list - Pactors adds no markup and takes no commission from you.
