Sierra Leone citizenship by contribution

According to independent media and the programme operator’s materials, two options have been announced: the standard one (Fast-Track/Special Naturalization) — from $140,000, ~90 days; Heritage Naturalization (for people of African descent, with a DNA test) — from $100,000, ~60 days. Plus $10,000 for each dependant.

The Sierra Leone Immigration Department (SLID) announced the programme on 2 January 2025, and the legal basis is the Citizenship (Special Naturalization) Regulation 2026 (secondary legislation under section 27(a) of the Citizenship Act 1973), but day-to-day administration is carried out by a private partner (GO-FOR-GOLD Center / TG 2050 Ltd). Different sources call the regulation now ‘2025’, now ‘2026’ — the status of the document did not look fully settled at the time of checking. As with São Tomé, there is as yet extremely little international recognition or practice of using the passport — it is worth positioning it only as a backup document. In November 2025 reports appeared of the programme being extended to distant relatives and business partners — the programme continues to change.

The domain slid.gov.sl (the Sierra Leone Immigration Department) confirms that the agency exists (passports, visas, residence permits), but the specific terms and figures of the GO-FOR-GOLD programme are not on the government domain itself — all the amounts are taken from independent media and the programme operator’s materials.
