Address registration in Armenia

Registering at your address is mandatory if you stay in Armenia for more than 30 days after entry. It confirms the address you live at and gives no resident status — a residence permit is a separate process.

Timeline
1–3 weeks
3 working days once the housing document is ready (your own address or our legal address); longer if the local police officer runs an extra check
Tax
Tax residency arises after more than 183 days physically in Armenia in a calendar year — whatever your registration status
Registration is mandatory after 30 days in the country

Under the agreement between the governments of Russia and Armenia of 11 July 2014 (in force since 20 March 2015), Russian citizens are exempt from registering at their place of stay for the first 30 days after entry. For a longer stay, registration is mandatory under Armenian law — even though the visa-free regime (a separate agreement from 2000) remains in effect during that time.

Frequently asked questions

How is registration different from a residence permit?
Registration confirms the address where you legally live, and it stays valid until you change address or the owner of the home cancels it — the law sets no fixed term for it. A residence permit is a separate resident status: it gives wider rights (banking, a social card, a path to citizenship) and is issued on its own grounds — business, work, employment. Registration is the mandatory minimum after 30 days of stay; a residence permit is a separate, weightier step on top of it.
Why are there two terms in the packages — 1 and 3 years — if the registration itself has no end date?
The term of a package is the period for which we provide the address and support, if you register at our legal address rather than at your own home. The registration itself has no time limit in law and doesn't “expire” with that term — with the 3-year address you simply don't have to renew it every year.
Can I register at a company's legal address?
Yes — our legal address in Armenia works for this registration too, if you have no home of your own or no consent from the owner of the flat you rent.
