Red-White-Red Card plus (Rot-Weiß-Rot – Karte plus)
A title for temporary settlement with unrestricted access to the labour market. It is issued when the RWR Card or the EU Blue Card is renewed after at least 21 of the last 24 months of work, and also to family members of the holders of these cards.
D visa for job-seeking by the very highly qualified (Jobseeker-Visum)
A category D visa allowing a very highly qualified third-country national without a job offer to enter Austria and look for work. A minimum of 70 points out of 100 is required.
Student residence permit (Aufenthaltsbewilligung – Student)
A title for temporary residence for ordinary study at a university, a Fachhochschule, an accredited private university or a teacher training college, and also for certain types of study of at least 40 ECTS.
Family reunification (Familienzusammenführung)
Family members of Austrian citizens receive the Familienangehöriger title; other dependants — Niederlassungsbewilligung – Angehöriger; family members of RWR Card and EU Blue Card holders — the Red-White-Red Card plus.
RWR Card for self-employed key workers (selbständige Schlüsselkräfte)
A title for third-country nationals whose self-employed activity creates macroeconomic benefit going beyond the benefit to the business itself. The points system does not apply — the assessment is made by the AMS within three weeks.
RWR Card for start-up founders (Start-up-GründerInnen)
A title for people setting up a company to develop and bring to market innovative products, services or technologies, with a coherent business plan and personal controlling influence over management. A minimum of 50 points out of 85 is required.
Long-term residence — EU (Daueraufenthalt – EU)
The long-term resident title after five years of continuous lawful residence in Austria, subject to the general conditions and Module 2 of the Integration Agreement.
Austrian citizenship (Verleihung der Staatsbürgerschaft)
Acquisition of Austrian citizenship by descent or by grant — naturalisation on application where the general conditions are met.
Settlement permit — researcher (Niederlassungsbewilligung – Forscher)
A title giving the right to work as a researcher in Austria. In addition to the general conditions, a hosting agreement with a certified research institution or university is required.
Residence card for a family member of an EU citizen (Aufenthaltskarte)
A right of residence under EU law for third-country nationals who are family members of a citizen of the EEA, Switzerland or Austria who has exercised the right of free movement.
