Repatriation under the Law of Return (עלייה — Aliyah under the Law of Return)

The 1970 amendment extended the right to the children and grandchildren of a Jew, to the spouse of a Jew and to the spouses of their children and grandchildren. A separate procedure for obtaining status applies to great-grandchildren.

New immigrant status (עולה חדש — Oleh Chadash)

Six months after repatriation, when the absorption basket payments end, entitlement to the income support benefit (havtachat hachnasa) is assessed.

Temporary resident visa A/5 for marriage and family reunification (Temporary Residence Visa Type A/5)

The graduated procedure for regularising the status of a foreign spouse (הליך מדורג).

Naturalisation (התאזרחות — Naturalization)

The previous citizenship is renounced, or it is confirmed that it will cease after naturalisation. The decision remains at the discretion of the Minister of the Interior.
