Frequently asked questions

When does outsourcing the accounting make sense?
When the accounting headcount grows faster than the business, when the volume of paperwork swings seasonally, or when the previous accountant isn't coping — frequent fines, tax audits, counterparties complaining about documents.
What are the monthly costs for a sole trader on the simplified regime in Armenia?
On the simplified regime the rate is 5% of turnover. If the sole trader has no employees, the only extras are the mandatory fixed payments — from AMD 11,500 a month in total: a fixed social tax of AMD 5,000, a fixed income tax of AMD 5,000 and stamp duty from AMD 1,500 to 15,000 depending on turnover (the stamp duty rises with turnover, so the total can reach about AMD 25,000 a month).
By when must the application to change tax regime be filed?
Within 20 days of registering the sole trader or LLC, and thereafter annually by 20 February. The accountant files it electronically; without a filing the company stays on the general regime.
What is the income tax rate in Armenia?
20% in 2023-2026 (in 2022 it was 21%).
How does moving from another accountant work?
Three steps: the previous accountant is asked for tax portal access (login and password) to reconcile the filings submitted; the client revokes the previous accountant's power of attorney at the bank (if there was one); the client signs an online power of attorney for the new accountant and confirms the change by phone with the tax authority.
Can I settle with clients by bank transfer without an online cash register?
Yes. An invoice is issued for each client; if the client is an individual, their passport details have to be stated on the invoice.
