Financial requirement
The duty is AMD 105,000 (≈$290) for the status and the card, and the same amount for a renewal. No duty is paid for children under 18.
Timelines and rights
Review time
Up to 30 days from filing the application. Since 1 January 2022 applications on the basis of employment are filed online only.
Right to work
It gives the right to work; the work permit is issued for no more than one year and is renewed only once (article 24 of the Law on Foreigners)

Documents and programme requirements

How the process runs
1–4 weeks- ApplicationThe employer files the application. They register on the public services platform and describe the vacancy.
- Labour market testThe vacancy stays open for at least 15 working days. During that time the employment service may offer the employer candidates who are citizens of Armenia.
- Work permitIf no suitable candidates appear, the employer obtains a work permit for the foreign national. Some categories — from permanent status to heads of executive bodies of companies with foreign capital — are exempt from the permit under article 23 of the Law on Foreigners.
- State feeThe state fee for residence is AMD 105,000. The employer or the employee pays it by agreement: through the E-payments system, by bank transfer to the state budget, or at a terminal in a branch.
- CardThe finished card is issued at the Unified Office of Public Services at 3 Vazgen Sargsyan Street.
