  • 3A salary certificate or employment contract (for a work visa) or the company's documents (for an owner's visa)
  • 4The family member's passport, valid for at least 6 months
  • 5A legalised birth or marriage certificate
  • 6The father's notarised consent — if the child's mother is the sponsor

Frequently asked questions

Does the sponsor have to be in the UAE?
No. You can only start once the sponsor has their own Emirates ID, but they don't need to attend in person — handing over the original Emirates ID is enough.
Do the children have to be present?
Yes, children of any age must be in the UAE while it's arranged. Those over 18 take the medical, and those over 15 give fingerprints.
Is a deposit required?
It depends on the sponsor's visa type: the immigration service may require a deposit for each family member. In the provider's experience it's about AED 3,000 for a company owner, and AED 3,000-5,000 per elderly parent; employees aren't charged a deposit. The deposit is returned once the visa is cancelled.
Is anything different for parents?
Yes. The immigration service may also ask for a UAE tenancy agreement or a larger deposit, and elderly parents' visas are issued for 1 year.
Does it matter whether the sponsor is mainland or free zone?
Yes: on a work visa from a mainland company an employment contract stamped by MOHRE is required, and on a visa from a free zone company a salary certificate is.
