Frequently asked questions

Does Google Play work with Armenian entities?
Yes. Armenia is on the list of countries where Google allows both developer and merchant registration. The default developer currency is the dollar.
Can I simply change the country on my old account?
No. The country in the address on a Google payments profile can't be changed, and the profile has to be in the same country as the bank account. So a new profile and developer account are created for the Armenian account.
What does registering the account cost at Google itself?
The registration fee is $25, charged once. It's paid by Visa, MasterCard or American Express; Google doesn't accept prepaid cards.
What is the DUNS number for?
Google asks an organisation account for one, along with the organisation's name, address, phone number and website. After the review, the full name and legal address are shown on the app's listing in Google Play.
Do I have to travel to Armenia?
No. The sole trader is registered under a power of attorney, the account is opened remotely and the developer account is set up online.
What tax applies to Google Play payouts in Armenia?
A sole trader on the simplified regime pays turnover tax: 10% for services and 1% if the activity falls within the high-tech list. Registration for the regime happens within 20 days.
