Can PayPal be opened in Armenia?

Not directly. But through a Payoneer business account an Armenian company can lawfully send and receive PayPal payments.

Can Stripe be opened in Armenia?

No, a full Stripe account isn't available in Armenia. Only Stripe Express works — through Buy Me a Coffee and LemonSqueezy.

Which platforms accept Armenian companies for taking payments?

Buy Me a Coffee and LemonSqueezy (through Stripe Express), Payoneer (with PayPal support), and the PayProGlobal and Paddle gateways.

Do I have to live in Armenia to open a company and connect payments?

No. With a sole trader, registration and connecting the payment services are done entirely remotely. An LLC doesn't require living in Armenia either. An LLC's account is opened when the director visits Yerevan for 7–14 working days. Without the trip, it is opened through the company's account at a bank in another country, other than Russia or Belarus.

How long does the whole process take?

Registering the company — a few days, opening the bank account — 1-2 weeks, verification on the payment platforms — usually a few days more.

What documents might the platforms ask for?

Usually the Armenian company's registration documents (an LLC or a sole trader) and the bank details are enough.

Can I connect Shopify, WooCommerce or SaaS services?

Yes, many clients use an Armenian company for Shopify, cloud SaaS services and subscription models.
