Registration
The application can be filed online through the FUT form or in person by appointment at a Migración Colombia service centre.
Financial requirement
Visa registration for children under 7 is free of charge. Adults go through the registration together with the issue of the foreigner's identity card and pay the fee for that document.

The single FUT form and one PDF file with the passport pages showing the biographical data and the valid visa.

Validity
The visa itself is indefinite. The sticker in the passport is replaced every 5 years on the holder's application.
Right to work
Carries an open work permit: any lawful activity within the country, subject to the rules for regulated professions.
Residence conditions
The qualifying period is 5 years of continuous stay from the date the visa was issued — for the holder and for the beneficiary alike. It drops to 2 years for spouses and permanent partners of Colombians, parents of Colombian children and Spanish nationals.
