Family life together with a Hungarian citizen, a residence permit holder or a recognised refugee, where the marriage was concluded before entry.
National residence card — permanent residence (nemzeti tartózkodási kártya)
The right to live in Hungary for an indefinite period. Grounds: at least 3 years of lawful continuous residence; or family grounds — dependency on a Hungarian citizen or long-term resident for at least 1 year, with a marriage concluded at least 2 years before filing; or the status of a former Hungarian citizen or their descendant.
EU residence card — EU long-term resident (EU tartózkodási kártya)
EU long-term resident status. Grounds: at least 5 years of lawful continuous residence in Hungary; or, for an EU Blue Card holder, at least 2 years in Hungary and at least 5 years in EU countries.
Naturalisation and renaturalisation (honosítás és visszahonosítás)
Acquisition of Hungarian citizenship on application, through naturalisation or renaturalisation. A simplified naturalisation route is provided separately for people with Hungarian ancestors and for spouses of Hungarian citizens.
