Admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan (naturalisation)

Article 16 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Citizenship. The simplified procedure covers kandas, ethnic Kazakhs studying at universities in Kazakhstan, rehabilitated victims of repression and widows of citizens of Kazakhstan — regardless of the length of residence. For nationals of Russia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan the simplified procedure applies where they have close relatives or under the terms of the 1999 Agreement.
