Golden Visa for humanitarian figures in the UAE
A ten-year residence for those working in the humanitarian field and for frontline heroes — medics and services recognised for their work in a crisis. The category is often described as a visa with no financial conditions, and that is wrong: alongside the service or the volunteer hours, ICP requires evidence of financial support for humanitarian initiatives of no less than AED 2,000,000.

Three conditions, and they do not replace one another
There is a choice inside the second point only: either the service or the hours. The other two are both mandatory.
Recognition
- Certificates of appreciation
- Or documents evidencing an outstanding contribution
Service or hours
- Work in humanitarian organisations for no less than five years
- Or at least 500 hours of volunteering
Financial support
- Evidence of support for humanitarian initiatives of no less than AED 2,000,000
- This condition comes with the service, not instead of it
When another category fits better
The ground is meant for an evidenced humanitarian contribution. Three cases.
There is volunteer experience but no AED 2 million of support
The conditions cannot be traded off: look at the exceptional talent category, where doctors and specialists pass on a ministry's endorsement with no financial threshold
You are a doctor who worked through a crisis, but outside a humanitarian organisation
The doctors' route: an accreditation letter from the Ministry of Health to practise, with the same ten-year term
You donate to charity but do not work in the field
Donations alone are not enough — certificates of recognition and service are required. The investor category is quicker: capital from AED 2,000,000 suffices

Work
Employment and business without a separate employer's permit
Trips, renewal and the grace period
Not cancelled by an absence from the UAE of more than six months — unlike an ordinary residence visa
The visa is issued for ten years — the longest term among the golden visas, level with the investor category and the exceptional talents. It is renewed on the same grounds. The privileges are shared: no sponsor needed, the status is not cancelled by more than six months outside the UAE, and the holder sponsors the family themselves.
