A certificate is required if you have lived in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine for six months or more and are coming to the UK for six months or more. The test is taken at a clinic from the Home Office list.

How the process runs
1–3 months- Step 1We pick the route: exceptional talent for established leaders, exceptional promise for those on the way up.
- Step 2We assemble the evidence: a CV of up to three pages, three letters of recommendation, up to ten pieces of proof.
- Step 3We file for endorsement with the relevant body and pay £561.
- Step 4The letter arrives and the visa application follows within three months, for £205.
- Step 5You give biometrics and pay the health surcharge for the whole visa period.
- Step 6The decision arrives and you choose the visa length — one to five years.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an employer or an invitation?
No. The visa is not tied to an employer: you may work employed, self-employed, change jobs and run your own business.
When can I apply for settlement?
After 3 years on the exceptional talent route and in science; after 5 years on exceptional promise. Time counted is time lived in the UK.
Can I skip the endorsement?
Yes, with a prestigious prize from the Home Office list. Then only the visa application is filed, for £766.
Which visa length should I choose?
One to five years at a time, with no limit on extensions. The health surcharge is paid upfront for the whole period, so a longer visa costs more at the start.
