Frequently asked questions

Do Russian citizens need a visa?
Nothing has to be arranged separately: the visa is issued on arrival for 90 days out of 180. The same goes for Belarusian citizens. Ukrainian and Kazakh citizens get a visa on arrival for 30 days, extendable to 60. Citizens of Moldova, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan must obtain the visa before travelling.
What do I do when it expires?
You can get a new visa for 30, 60 or 90 days.
What's the penalty for overstaying?
A fine accrues for each day of overstay — AED 50 a day at the rate set by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. On top of the fine you pay exit processing charges; how much depends on where you pay them.
