India e-Visa

An electronic visa with eight sub-categories: e-Tourist, e-Business, e-Medical, e-Medical Attendant, e-Student, e-Family, e-Transit, e-Miscellaneous. The visa is not extendable, is not convertible into other categories and confers no right to visit protected and restricted areas.

Electronic Business Visa (e-Business Visa)

A sub-category of India's electronic visa for business trips. The visa is not extendable and is not convertible into another category.

Electronic Medical Visa (e-Medical Visa)

A sub-category of the electronic visa for treatment in India. The visa is not extendable and is not convertible into another category.

Electronic Patient Attendant Visa (e-Medical Attendant Visa)

A sub-category of the electronic visa for persons accompanying a patient entering on an e-Medical Visa.

Electronic Student Visa (e-Student Visa)

A sub-category of India's electronic visa for study. The portal does not disclose the maximum length of a single stay — check with an Indian mission.

Business Visa

One of the visa categories granted by the Government of India. The 5-year term, the multiple entry and the possibility of extension are confirmed on the indianvisaonline.gov.in portal.

Student Visa

One of the visa categories granted by the Government of India. The Provisional Student Visa is issued for 6 months and extended for up to a further 6 months on the basis of a copy of the application for admission and a letter from the institution.

Medical Visa

One of the visa categories granted by the Government of India. Up to three accompanying persons obtain a Medical Attendant Visa for the same period as the patient.

Journalist Visa

One of the visa categories granted by the Government of India — for journalists and media representatives. Neither the validity nor the number of entries is disclosed on any official page — check with an Indian mission.

Employment Visa

Work residence permit

Grounds: Employment / business. The Geneva Convention is not signed; there is no asylum.

Financial requirement

Salary above INR 16.25 lakh a year (for persons of Indian origin — from 3.6 lakh); fee

Passport, online application form, photograph, contract with the salary in INR, employer's letter, degree certificates
