The study visa does not lead to permanent residence. The permanent residence permit is issued by the State Registration Service on the basis of certificates of income, health, criminal record and housing.

Route to citizenship

Citizenship is granted after 5 years of permanent residence. Command of the state or the official language and lawful means of subsistence are also required.
